Help 'What We Do in the Shadows' Into Your City

The Creators of "Flight of the Conchords" and "Eagle vs. Shark" need your help. Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi have a brand new comedy on their hands and they want to give people across America a chance to see it in a darkened theater with a crowd. "What We Do in the Shadows" is currently set for a limited release on February 13th in only Los Angeles and New York City. This Kickstarter intends to expand that number to 70 cities and you could help with as little as $10.


Having seen "What We Do in the Shadows" last year at AFI FEST 2014 I can attest this is a film worth making a trek to see with a crowd in a theater. The "documentary" follows a group of bachelor vampires and is absolutely hysterical. It is laugh-out-loud material that could potentially leave your sides hurting from all the laughter. I'm not the only one who thinks this New Zealand comedy is worth seeing, buzz coming out of Sundance, SXSW, Berlin, and Toronto Film Festival was very high leading up to myself seeing it at AFI FEST last November.

So why should you drop some of your hard earned cash? Exposure. You'd be helping two talented independent filmmakers get their crowd pleasing comedy in more theaters for more audiences to enjoy outside of L.A. and N.Y.C. Living in L.A. I'll have my chance to see it with friends, but I want more people to experience that same satisfaction in other cities around the U.S. so I donated $30. Hopefully more will do the same and my friends in Illinois, Colorado, Texas, Florida, and plenty of other states will get a shot to see it also. This is the kind of film that deserves to be shared and then shared again.

Last tidbit, if you haven't seen Taika Waititi's previous stuff like "Boy" or "Eagle vs. Shark" you really ought to, he's super talented.
