After a career in the Navy and years of service at a merchandising superstore, Larry Crowne a middle-aged man loses his job due to corporate downsizing. With no college degree and no jobs to be found Larry returns to community college in order to better his poor economic situation and reinvent himself.

Participant Media Talks - Page One: Inside the New York Times

Over the course of the summer KCET is hosting a Cinema Series at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, California. Nine special nights showcasing eight new movies before their theatrical release along with one classic Johnny Mercer scored film. Each screening will also include a Q&A immediately following the film with actors and filmmakers hosted by film critic Pete Hammond. The fourth film of the series screened was a documentary called "Page One: Inside the New York Times" directed by Andrew Rossi. The documentary takes a stirring look at the changing face of newspapers with media, online blogging and aggregate journalism chipping away at the age old institutions of reporting. Following the film was a rising Q&A with two Participant Media spokespersons. Take a look at the highlights below...

Review - Super 8

In the summer of 1979 a group of kids witness a train crash while filming a movie for a contest. Following the crash, the kids and their small town find themselves experiencing an onslaught of unexplained occurrences as well as being held at the mercy of the United States Air Force.
