One of my favorite horror movies of the last couple years is "Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon." A film that came and went with not many people getting a chance to know its glory. It is a movie that I constantly show friends of mine who've never seen. Its a film that is sharp as a tack and hosts an enormous amount of wit horrorphiles are sure to fall head over heels for. Well now that I've reminded you of the original film, the people behind the original are hoping to get a prequel-sequel-remake made and they are reaching out to us the fans and people that supported the first movie to get it done. Over the course of the summer KCET is hosting a Cinema Series at the Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, California. Nine special nights showcasing eight new movies before their theatrical release along with one classic Johnny Mercer scored film. Each screening will also include a Q&A immediately following the film with actors and filmmakers hosted by film critic Pete Hammond.
